What does a small business website cost in NYC and Long Island?
Most small business websites around New York cost from a few hundred dollars to a few thousand to build. On top of that come yearly costs for a domain and, sometimes, hosting or a care plan. What you pay depends mostly on who does the work and how many pages and features you need. Below are prices local businesses actually publish, checked in October 2026.

Questions
Why do prices vary so much?
You're paying for different amounts of work: a template you fill in yourself is very different from a site planned, written and designed for you.
Is a monthly plan better than paying once?
It depends on how long you keep the site. One studio that serves NYC offers both for a 5-page site: $175 a month for at least 12 months, or $3,800 once plus $25 a month for hosting (published prices, checked October 2026). Over two years that's $4,200 against $4,400; over three years it's $6,300 against $4,700. Add up the total for the years you expect to keep the site, and check who owns it if you stop paying.
What should a website quote include?
The pages, who writes the words, the photos, the domain and hosting, who owns the logins, the timeline, who makes changes later, and what isn't included.
How much does SEO cost?
Local monthly SEO plans we saw run from about $700 a month to $1,800 and up (published prices, checked October 2026). The basics belong in any new website: clear titles, fast pages and accurate business details.
